Well, the Marshall sounds great. It is loud and some sound guys tell me exactly that. The truth is that at some smaller venues the amp is TOO loud. I got a THD Hot Plate Power Attenuator, which is great for playing at home, but for a small gig it is just another weight to carry around. Hence, the next project should be something smaller and not as loud. I went back to Rob Robinette’s website and read about the Fender 5E3 Deluxe amp.
I decided to use the Edge Deluxe mod and the 3-way switched feedback mod.
The cabinet is built from an old larch tree that grew at our cottage and that as kids we played under in our sandbox. Unfortunately, the tree died a few years ago, but I kept the planks for some special occasion. I can’t think of a better use now than to play some tunes through it.
